The Cleveland Museum of Art is full of interesting and dynamic spaces, which includes an Atrium and gallery spaces of varying sizes. My time within the gallery spaces included viewing Jacob Lawrence “The Toussaint L’Ouverture Series” and permanent collection.

The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt New York: April 1-26, 2014

egghunt

Starting this week New York City will host the world’s biggest egg hunt with over 200 egg sculptures hidden across the city for three weeks entitled the Fabergé egg hunt, in which 100% of proceeds go to charity: for New York City children through Studio in a School and Elephant Family, saving the endangered Asian elephant and its habitat. The eggs are about 2 1/2 feet tall (or about 3/4 meter) and will be hidden around the city April 1-17.

The fun of the egg hunt includes a free downloadable smart phone application you can check in each time you find an egg and includes eligibility for prizes.  When 10 people check in at an egg the location will be revealed since eggs’ location will remain secret until then. After reveal the eggs will be on an interactive map!

The eggs are designed by famous designers such as Diane von Furstenberg, Naeem Khan, Marchesa, Carolina Herrera, Ralph Lauren and countless others. Studio in a School program students will make twenty-four of the eggs. Eggs will be hidden in all five boroughs! Certain of the eggs will be able to be purchased. They will be limited edition, hand-painted ostrich eggs, as well as a range of merchandising created exclusively for The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt in New York, will be available online and in retailers.

After the hunt is over the eggs will be on view at Rockefeller Center from April 18-25 and then be auctioned off by Sotheby’s and the online auctioneer Paddle8. Mini-replica eggs and a children’s book about the hunt will be sold at Saks Fifth Avenue, pop-up locations around the city and online.
