Live Ideas: James Baldwin,This Time!

I am so excited that New York Live Arts will present their second installation of their Live Ideas dedicated to exploring the impact and achievement of the work of James Baldwin, extraordinary and prominent literary figure of the twentieth century. The festivities will feature lots of artistic responses to Baldwin’s work, including panels and performances during April 23-27, 2014.

Schomburg Center: Annual Women’s Jazz Festival

schomburg-center1Celebrate Women’s History Month at The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture with the Annual Women’s Jazz Festival on Monday evenings throughout the month of March.

Performances include the Spelman Jazz Ensemble and highlight musical styles that influence and connect to the genre of jazz such as Sacred Songs, Blues, and R&B.
