Block party in Harlem alert!

Kicking off on July 30th, Museum of the City of New York and El Museum del Barrio unite for Wednesday night fun in Spanish Harlem. Full of gallery talks, music and dancing the series is themed per Wednesday night, with the first entitled “ROOTS” which includes break dancers, a conversation with a folklorist and two  well known djs at the respective institutions: DJ Tony Touch and DJ duo D’Marquesina! Two more in the series exist, with “THROWBACK” on August 6th and “THE REMIX” on August 13th.

Radiance: After Hours at El Museo

Every Wednesday this summer from June 19th through August 28th El Museo del Barrio stays open late with 5ifty5ive and their resident DJ Les Carbonell from 6 to 9pm. In addition to dancing the night away in the courtyard to blends of musical styles like Afro Beat and soul as the sun sets over Fifth Avenue, you can enjoy gallery talks by artists in El Museo’s 7th biennial exhibition La Bienial: HERE IS WHERE WE JUMPThere is also free gallery admission and performances.
