Exhibit on the Edge: Worth and Mainbocher

Worth and Mainbocher. “Title Image for Online Exhibition”  http://collections.mcny.org/C.aspx?VP3=CMS3&VF=MNYO28_2

Museum of the City of New York has an exciting new online exhibition entitled: Worth and Mainbocher: Demystifying the Haute Couture.

The online exhibit features119 gorgeous garments from designers Charles Frederick Worth and Main Rousseau Bocher. Worth, designing gowns for women through the end of the 19th century and Bocher, designing pieces for much of the 20th century, defined luxury and style for the fashionable women of New York in their time periods. Within the exhibit you not only gain knowledge of the pieces but also technique and structure used to construct such exquisite garments.

With great quality images, beautifully detailed descriptions and ease of navigation around the site, it is a must-visit exhibit. Experts and students of fashion, history, and New York City itself can benefit from it.
